Hi! Hope your week is going great so far. Things are good over here. It’s been hot again, which I love, and we’re trying to take advantage of it with outside time in the morning and squeezing it in between dinner and Vera’s early bedtime.
Yesterday was kind of a weird day. It started off as a rest day, and I woke up at 5:30 for a shower and breakfast/writing time. Vera and I hung out a little once she finally woke up at 7 (with some outside time, like I mentioned)
and then it was off to daycare and work.
After working a full day, I jetted off across town for an event committee meeting at a nonprofit I’m involved with as a Board member. The meeting lasted until 6:40 or so, and as expected, I would miss bedtime. I decided to stop into the grocery store to pick up a few items. I finally made it home around 7:30, and after unloading and putting away the groceries, I decided to go for a run???
I’m not sure what came over me. Maybe because it was so light and warm out still. Plus for some reason I had a lot of energy. I’d usually be dragging by then, but nope – I was energetic for some reason. So I rolled with it.
I ran a little over 3 miles and did approximately quarter-mile intervals (.25 miles fast, .25 normal running pace) the whole time, wanting to make it home before the sunset. I was successful with time to spare 🙂 It felt good to be outside and change up my routine a little.
After my run, I packed Vera’s lunch for Thursday and snacked on raspberries and a bowl of cereal (#dinnerofchampions). After a quick rinse in the shower, I finally climbed into bed to read for a bit before passing out hard.
